Document Description
The proposed Project would use a standard backhoe and a barge-mounted backhoe attachment to excavate and remove tules and other emergent vegetation from the banks of Lake El Estero and two (2) adjacent ponds in the City of Monterey. Project-related activities would occur during December and January to avoid impacts to nesting birds. Up to approximately 10 cubic yards of sediment that has accumulated in culvert inlets leading to the ponds would be removed. All materials would be stockpiled off-site and then disposed of at a landfill or other appropriate off-site location.
