Document Description
A 6-inch High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipe and a 10-inch HDPE pipe will be installed using Horizonatal Directional Drilling (HDD) approximately 25 feet below the streambed of Garrity Creek to replace a 12-inch, Ductile Iron Pipe (DIP) that transports domestic wastewater, by gravity, from the east side of Garrity Creek to West County Wastewater District's (WCWD) Tara Hill Pump Station wes of Garrity Creek. The 12-inch DIP was originally constructed below the streambed in 1964 with a concrete cap above the pipe. At high tide and wet weather flows, the water is deep enough that the pipe cannot be seen from the creek bank. Overtime, the streambed has eroded to the point that the 12-inch DIP is now exposed during dry weather/low tide conditions.
