Document Description
Pursuant to the Governor's Energy Executive Order S-20-04 calling for a reduction in energy load by 20 percent by the year 2015 for all state facilities, CDCR is undertaking a number of energy savings program. AT CRC Norco, CDRC will replace the boilers in the current central plant with three new high-efficiency Muira 300-horsepower boilers with economizers. The new boilers will be sized and controlled to fully modulate during all loading conditions, thus saving energy by eliminating the need for a standyby boiler kept at operating temperature. The new boilers will be located in a newly constructed enclosure adjacent to the existing boiler enclosure.
