Document Description
Improve Ironwood Trail at Salton Sea State Recreation Area to make it compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Improvements include reconstruction of approximately 900 feet of existing trail, which will result in a firm surface due to the installation of new trail edging and improved drainage and construction of approximately 2,378 feet of new trail including 1,021 feet of boardwalk. Other components of the compliant picnic tables, installation of trail signs, and installation of one ramada with a picnic table along the trail. Best Management Practices will be incorporated to control erosion and protect non-jurisdictional drainages in the project vicinity.

Project consists of the minor alteration of existing public structures, faciltiies, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use and consists of minor public alterations in the condition of land, water, and/or vegetation which do not invovle removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees and is included in DPR's list of exempt activities as "modifications of existing facilities for handicap access" and "trail construction or realignment" in accordance with CCR Section 15300.4.
