Document Description
NOTE: Supplemental EA NOTE: Reference SCH# 1997071087 The Reach 9, Phase 2A Embankment Project is part of the Prado Basin Flood control improvements under the Santa Ana River Mainstem Project. The project was analyzed and approved in the 2001 Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (EIS)/Environmental Impact Report (EIR). The Embankment Project would be constructed in the same fashion as the approved project; however, the design would be modified to include sheet pile installation with grouted stone in order to reduce impacts to riparian and coastal sage scrub vegetation. The main objective of this project would be the same as the approved embankment project, which is to provide flood protection for the Green River Housing Estates and the Upper Highway 91 embankment and to protect the lives and properties (homes) of individuals residing in the project area.
