Document Description
The original Project includes repowering the existing wind energy facility to replace outdated wind turbine generators (WTG) with fewer and more efficient WTGs. After repowering, the Project will have up to 40.8 megawatts (MW) of installed capacity. The amendment includes additional work for maintenance of the rotor repair activities and future maintenance activities. The Project with the amendment is anticipated to result in a total of 233.58 acres of impact, including 194.73 acres of temporary loss of California tiger salamander (Ambystoma californiense) and San Joaquin kit fox (Vulpes macrotis mutica) upland habitat, 34.82 acres of permanent and 3.76 acres of semi-permanent loss of upland habitat, and 0.27 acre of permanent loss of California tiger salamander aquatic habitat. The Project is expected to result in incidental take of California tiger salamander and San Joaquin kit fox, which are both designated as threatened species under CESA. The ITP Amendment referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of project implementation.
