Document Description
The project is a comprehensive update of the Fremont General Plan, which includes a land use designation map that will replace the map based on the 1991 Plan. The City has established 2035 as the horizon year which the City projects is the earliest time period that growth anticipated in the Plan will be achieved. The DRAFT General Plan Update focuses on development of a sustainable "strategically urban" city, with transformation of the City Center, enhancement of Town Centers, promotion of Transit Oriented Development, and balancing vehicle transportation with needs of other modes of transportation. The Plan anticipates a Fremont population of 259,000 and a total of 158,583 local jobs in 2035.
