Document Description
Broadcast burn approximately 70 acres in two separate locations to remove hazardous fire fuels that have built up as a result of fire exclusion. The project will use a low intensity fire to remove the accumulation of vegetative fuel which has built up in the area. The fuels to be removed will include brush and small trees as well as branches, leaves and pine needles on the forest floor. The desired result is an open park like condition consisting of larger trees which will reduce the threat of catastrophic wildfire and allow the fire department a safer and more effective place to make a stand.
