Document Description
The primary purposes of the project are water storage and regulation, groundwater recharge and water conservation. The project consists of a regulatory basin, control structures, canal improvements and an inter-tie to the Big Sandridge Canal No. 65. The improvements will be developed, owned and operated by the Fresno Irrigation District. In addition to increasing the FID's overall water supplies, other project goals and objectives include sustaining more uniform water delivery flow rates to constituents; maintaining the high quality water supply of FID; sustaining the viability of agriculture within FID; and reducing overdraft by dedicating water to groundwater recharge.
