Document Description
The approximately 27 acre subject site consists of three contiguous parcels currently developed with the recently vacated regional Dow Jones-Wall Street Journal offices and warehouse. The proposal involves the establishment of a vehicle storage yard to accommodate the overflow of vehicles from the existing adjacent auto auction facility, and to utilize the existing Dow Jones building as additional office and vehicle inspection space. The proposal will involve the storage of up to approximately 2,500 vehicles and up to approximately 30 transport vehicles. The applicant estimates that between 20 and 25 trucks will deliver vehicles to/from the site on a given day, generally between 7:00am and 7:00pm seven days a week. The site will be manned by a security guard at all times to accept the occasional after hours transport truck. Transport vehicles will enter the facility from Jurupa Avenue to an on-site transporter lot where auction vehicles will be off loaded and transferred to the inspection building (former Dow Jones warehouse building). Auction vehicles will then be stored on the auction property, which would include the existing and the proposed storage area. The proposed storage area would accommodate an additional 2,500 vehicles. No customers or wholesale buyers/sellers will frequent the project site.
