Document Description
The Lagunitas Creek Water Quality and Habitat Improvement Project - Cheda McIssac Ranches Project is part of a grant funded project to reduce road-related fine sediment loading to improve water quality and stream habitat for the benefit of Coho salmon and steelhead trout in the Lagunitas Creek Watershed. Work in Cheda-McIssac watersheds would implement treatments to repair road related sediment, or erosion problems at 8 creek crossing sites (tributaries to Cheda and McIssac Creeks which are in turn tributaries to Lagunitas Creek) and an additional 12 sites that do not involve work in creeks by storm-proofing these sites. Storm-proof sites strictly minimize road-related sediment delivery to creeks by designing them to meet 100-year flows, minimizing their diversion potential, disconnecting road surfaces and ditches from the creeks, among other features.
