Document Description
Tule Basin Farms proposes to transfer to four SWP contractors a total of 3,520 acre-feet of water made available by pumping groundwater in lieu of taking Sacramento River water supplies it would normally take at mile 81.9 of West Borrow Pit of the Sutter Bypass. The transfer water will flow down the Sacramento River and then through natural river channels to the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, where it will be pumped at SWP Banks Pumping Plant. The DWR will transfer the water to the four SWP water contractors' service areas. The transfer water is intended to alleviate water shortages within the four SWP contractors' service areas due to ongoing dry conditions and would not support new development.
