NOE - Notice of Exemption

Document Description
South Sutter Water District (SSWD) proposes to transfer to four SWP contractors a total of 10,000 acre-feet of water made available by a temporary reduction in surface water diversions to agricultural customers historically served by SSWD. The transfer water will flow down the Bear River and then through natural river channels to the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, where it will be pumped at SWP Banks Pumping Plant. The DWR will transfer the water to the four SWP water contractors' service areas. The transfer water is intended to alleviate water shortages within the four SWP contractor's service areas due to ongoing dry conditions and would not support new development.
