Document Description
The Project will enhance 0.85 acres and 500 linear feet of willow riparian scrub habitat in the Arroyo de la Laguna. The enhancement includes planting additional vegetation at the 2006 project site where no plantings had previously been placed. In addition, the Project will use submerged rootwads, Christmas trees and other woody materials to improve bank stability and provide additional riparian habitat value and function along a section (approximately 30 ft. length) of the eastern toe. To prevent floatation and scour, the wood material will be anchored to existing log posts and rocks in the nearby stream barb. Sandbags and filter fabric will be used to prevent fine sediment from reaching the stream during the work activities. Work will be conducted primarily with hand labor, but equipment situated on the floodplain terrace will also be used. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2010-0091-3 is pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1602.
