The Bikeways Plan is intended to provide a comprehensive and integrated system of bikeways providing access throughout the community, providing better connectivity throughout the community and neighboring cities, provide an alternative commute opportunity increased recreational opportunities, improved safety, and a maintenance plan. The proposed Bikeways Plan is a modification and expansion of the existing Bikeways Plan contained in the General Plan Transportation Element adopted by the City Council on October 13, 1999 (City Council Resolution 136-99).
