Document Description
The Project includes the conversion of 2.02 acres of undeveloped land into riparian habitat and restoring the channelized Colgan Creek into a wider, meandering channel. Project activities include tree removal, grubbing, grading, re-vegetation, installing pool habitat log structures and constructed riffles, bioengineered bank stabilization, paving of an existing gravel path on the west side of the creek bank, and other activities. The Project will result in permanent impacts to 2.02 acres of California tiger salamander (Ambystoma californiense) habitat. The Project is expected to result in incidental take of California tiger salamander, which is designated as a threatened species under CESA. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation.

The Project is located along an approximately 2,000-foot-long stretch of Colgan Creek between Victoria Drive and Boron Avenue within the City of Santa Rosa, Sonoma County. The Project is located from approximately 400 feet south of Victoria Drive at 38.411429, -1 22.722478 to approximately 200 feet north of Boron Avenue at 38.406575, -122.725576. The Project site is bounded on the east and west by commercial and residential development, and undeveloped land. The Project footprint is 2.02 acres and is located within Township 7N, Range 8W, Sections 34 and 35 of the Santa Rosa u.s. Geological Survey 7.5-minute quadrangle map, Mt. Diablo meridian.
