Note: Final Pursuant to the Marine Life Protection Act, the California Fish and Game Commission (Commission) and the California Department of Fish and Game (CDFG) have redesigned and re-evaluated the California South Coast Study Region's (SCSR) Marine Protection Areas (MPAs). The SCSR consists of the coastal area between Point Conception and the California/Mexico border, and the MPA redesign is intended to: increase coherence and effectiveness in protecting the State's marine life and habitats, marine ecosystems, and marine natural heritage, as well as improve recreational, educational, and study opportunities provided by marine ecosystems subject to minimal human disturbance.
