CAL FIRE/Butte County Fire will conduct annual Fire Prevention training for enforcement and fire investigators in the determination of the orgin and cause of wild land fire. The project sites are 1) the Oroville Airport District and 2) the Butte College Fire grounds and adjacent area. Future training activities will lie within areas that have been previously leveled, graded, and otherwise heavily developed. The projects will consist of between 20 to 30 small (30 foot by 40 foot) patches that will be ignited and immediately suppressed.
The project is intended to be a training function for investigation of fire origin and cause. It will also serve a maintenance function, utilizing burning, of existing public facility grounds (Oroville Airport and Butte College).
