Document Description
Relocate the gate and install new vehicular entrance to the Cool Trailhead and Equestrian Staging Area at Auburn State Recreation Area. Remove the exisitng metal vehicle gate, approximately eight T-posts, and wire fencing, and cut gate post at ground surface adjacent to the Equestrian Staging Area. Excavate two postholes approximately 1.5' diameter by 2.5' deep to install gate posts and move approximately ten T-posts and 150' of wire fencing to re-install the gate on an exisitng paved access road approximately 300' to the southwest of the original gate location, minor grading and placement of 3" to 6" aggregate base in an approximately 75' by 20' area between the paved access road and the Equestrian Staging Area to construct the new vehicular entrance to the staging area.

Maintenance and minor alteration of exisitng public facilities and topographic features involving negligible expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of the lead agency's determination: construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures: and minor public alterations in the condition of land and vegetation which do not involve the removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees except for forestry purposes; and included as "construction and installation of park facilities, such as fencing and gates" in the Department of Parks and Recreation's list of exempt activities, in accordance with CCR section 15300.4.
