Document Description
The project would replace approximately 2,660 total linear feet of existing Buena Sanitation District sewer pipeline located within eight short segments of roadways and private drives, and constructing new manholes in those locations. Existing 6" pipe would be replaced by 8" pipe to meet the district's minimum service standards. Project installation would be conducted by open trench construction within City-owned right-of-way.
The project is necessary to replace pipelines that do not meet minimum standards, which would alleviate the right of upset and reduce the need for costly repairs. The greater system reliability would benefit the district's customers, as well as the groundwater basin, creeks, and other downstream water bodies that could be affected by malfunctioning pipeline.
