Document Description
The proposed projet will construct a vehicle-proof guard rail on the east side of US 395 in Mono County from post mile 51.0-51.25. Traffic data shows that two vehicles have fallen down a 20 foot embankment on the east side of an existing retaining wall at the project area due to excessive speeds. The purpose of the project is to increase safety along US 395 and reduce injuries caused by excessive speeding. The need of the project is to prevent vehicles from falling down the existing embankment. The project area is completely disturbed and mostly devoid of vegetation. No new right of way will be acquired. No sensitive environmental resources will be impacted by the project as proposed.
