Document Description
CDFW has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2017-0343-R3, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Sonoma County Water Agency. During winter 2016-2017, frequent heavy rains with sustained high flows led to a large amount of deposited gravel into the back end of one of the backwater channels. This project authorized under this Agreement is limited to: excavating the deposited gravel from the backwater channel; backfilling floodplain wood structures with gravel; installing willow baffles upstream of the backwater channel along the bank of Dry Creek to help prevent future gravel deposition; reorienting some large wood structures to be parallel to the main channel of Dry Creek; and excavating out a buried pipe. All work is to restore the site back to the original design and prevent future sedimentation. No mature vegetation will be impacted and a turbidity curtain will be installed to isolate the work area in the backwater pond form the rest of the pond.
