Document Description
NOTE: Revised The proposed project involves demolition of an existing public library and construction of a new library at the same location. The existing library has restrooms and interior aisles that are not compliant with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements; there are seismic safety issues; the structure is decaying; the mechanical and electrical systems are outdated; and the building is inefficient in energy use. The old library is inadequate for today's computer uses and other technological needs. The new library would be an 8,656 square foot, single story building which would serve the same functions and same number of patrons as the existing library. The overall structure would house 7,480 sf of Main Library space and 1,176 sf for the Tool Lending Library. The building height would be 30 feet to a central clerestory, and 18'-6" or 17 ft. elsewhere.
