Caltrans proposes a project to increase safety on a segment of State Route (SR) 299 in Shasta County, from postmile (PM) 2.5 to PM 4.3, near Buckhorn Summit, approximately 20 miles west of Redding. The proposed safety project will realign seventeen curves, provide 8 ft shoulders, improve the roadway geometrics, connect 2 existing truck climbing lanes, and improve sight distance.
