The DWR is planning to conduct overwater and land geotech. Borings, perform cone penetration tests (CPT) and dig approx. 30 small test pits in order to test soils in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. DWR will investigate engineering properties of soils within a narrow corridor transecting the Delta. Purpose of investigation is to gather necessary geotech, information to support the prep. Of a draft EIR/EIS for proposed BDCP and/or DHCCP. The CWC adopted resolutions of necessity March 21 to provide access for the Project (Attachment A-2).
