Document Description
The purpose of the multi-phased Salmon Creek Estuary Enhancement Project is to increase and enhance the estuarine and tidal environments (Salmon Creek, Cattail Creek, and Long Pond), in the Salmon Creek Unit of the Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Phase ll will increase estuarine habitat area by enhancing 5,300 feet of existing tidal channel and constructing 4,605 feet of new channel to augment Salmon Creek's artificial drainage system of channelized ditches. Phase ll will also continue the enhancement of diked former tidelands in the overflow area that were re-connected to Hookton Slough.
