Document Description
The permitting activity is to rework three wells in an underground gas storage (UGS) field. The permitting activity will be performed using a service rig and ancillary services. Work will involve hydrostatically controlling each well, removing the wellhead, pulling the existing tubing, and performing a casing inspection. A new tubing and packer assembly will be installed. The wellhead will be re-installed and a series of pressure tests will be performed to confirm integrity. Work at each well is expected to take 14 days; the project duration will be 42 days total.
The project activity being permitted by the California Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM) is within the scope of the Wild Goose Storage LLC – Phase 3 Gas Storage Expansion Project – Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Report as well as the 2002 EIR: Wild Goose Storage, Inc. Expansion Project, and the 1997 MND: Wild Goose Storage, Inc. Wild Goose Gas Storage Project Natural Gas Storage Facilities (A.96-08-058).
CalGEM, as the CEQA Responsible Agency, approved permits for Wild Goose Storage LLC to rework the wells listed below, in the Wild Goose Gas Field in Butte County.
