Document Description
In total, the project proposes to construct approximately 3,045 feet of new water main (1,985 feet of 12-inch main associated with the Breckenridge Lane Water project and 1,060 feet of 8-inch main that was not addressed by the Breckenridge project) along with the various laterals. The entire water main extension would be trenched in the alignment of existing streets, all of which have been graded and developed, as well as within a small portion of city-owned property as described above. Water line construction would be conventional open cut excavation with typical depths of three to six feet. The new water main would provide a connection between the City's Riverside Industrial Park Pressure Zone to the north and the City's water storage reservoirs, which are located in the Northern and Southern Pressure Zones to the south. By establishing such a connection, the city would be able to provide sufficient fire-flows for existing and future businesses in the Riverside Industrial Park Pressure Zone, as well as improve water quality for residents located in the northwestern portion of the City.
