Document Description
The project is the replacement of an existing, failing 42-inch underground potable water pipeline with a new 48-inch pipeline in an adjacent, disturbed alignment. The existing and proposed pipelines are City of Riverside Public Utilities infrastructure. The project alignment would pass through the cities of Colton and Grand Terrace, in the County of San Bernardino. Total length of the proposed alignment would be approximately 6,600 feet or 1.25 miles. The existing pipeline, which was built in 1926, requires immediate replacement due to several recent leaks, likely caused by seismic activity in the region, and age of the infrastructure. The proposed pipeline would be constructed via trench and jack and bore construction methods.
