Document Description
The project is limited to the construction of one aquatic habitat pond called East Pond 1, to be located east of the outlet of the New River and north of the existing Species Conservation Habitat Project (“original SCH Project”), which is permitted under Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (LSAA) #1600-2016-0141-R6. The Project will use exiting water delivery systems and electrical power infrastructure developed to provide power for the water pumps for the original SCH Project. The Project will restore shallow water habitat lost due to the Salton Sea's ever-increasing salinity and reduced area as the Sea recedes.
