Document Description
Foster Farms proposes to expand its rendering operation at the existing poultry processing Complex. Foster Farms will utilize an existing vacant building on its site, northwest of existing Plant #2, for rendering operations. The building is approximately 6,150 sf in size and will be expanded by an additional 2,500 sf of covered and enclosed space. Foster Farms will install a continuous-cooker-based poultry offal rendering process, including several storage bins and tanks in a fully enclosed building. The rendering expansion will include a vapor handling system a condenser, venturi scrubber, and a regenerative thermal oxidizer that is designed to capture and destroy high-intensity process emissions (including odors and volatile organic compounds [VOC]). To minimize fugitive emissions, the expansion has been designed to been designed to be fully enclosed.
