Document Description
The proposed project would result in the conversion of the primary disinfectant at the Howiler WFP from free chlorine to ozone, and the residual (secondary) disinfection at both the Howiler WFP and at Wells #3 and #5 (Well Site) from free chlorine to chloramines. Implementation of these modifications to the Howiler WFP would involve construction of four new facilities (ozone building, ozone injection vault, ozone contact basin, and LOX tank and tank pad), installation of the supplemental backwash system within the existing facilities, the associated piping and electrical/instrumentation conduits, security cameras and yard lighting. Modifications at the Well Site would introduce an aqueous ammonia system, either at the existing storage building with a tie-in to each well via an underground pipeline (Option No. 1) or at each well location (Option No. 2).
