Document Description
The met tower consist of a 4.5 inch to 8 inch diameter tubular steel pole structure supported by four sets of guy wires that extend up to 197ft from the base of the tower supported on a 4x4 foot base. No concrete base or other type of permanent base is proposed although one or more anchor pins (ground rods) will be used in order to keep the base from slipping during pole erection. Met towers are temporary in nature and will be monitoring winds speeds in the area all year long for 2-3 years, Per Title 9, Division 5, Section 90530.07 indicated Communication towers height limit is 100ft within the G-S (Government/Special Public Zone) a variance is required for the proposed met tower exceeding the zone's height limit.
