The California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), pursuant to authority granted under Division 4.5, California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Chapter 20 prepared an addendum to a previously adopted Initial Study/Negative Declaration for the renewal of a Standardized Hazardous Waste Facility Permit (Permit) pursuant to California Health and Safety Code section 25200 for Heraeus Precious Metals, North America, LLC (Heraeus) for ten additional years. DTSC received a Permit Renewal application to continue operating a Hazardous Waste Treatment and Storage Facility for hazardous waste as authorized by the California Health and Safety Code, Chapter 6.5. Heraeus is located at 13429 Alondra Boulevard, Santa Fe Springs in Los Angeles County and recovers and refines precious metals that include gold, silver, platinum, palladium, rhodium, and other rare metals from secondary sources into various alloy products and specialty compounds that are used in catalyst, emission controls, and chemical manufacturing applications.
