Document Description
Project improvements include construction of 10 to 12 Distrcit owned wells the first four of which would be constructed in 2010. Well sites will be selected based upon multiple factors including:
-Proximity to existing District or landowner wells (standard industry well spacing criteria will be used);
-Proximity to existing District conveyance canals or pipelines;
-Proximity to power lines;
-Land ownership; and
-Minimizing disruption to agricultural operations.
The District will construct wells on both District owned and private landowner property. For private landowner wells in particular, wells will be located on the perimeter of existing agricultural fields or along existing internal roadways. These locations will minimize the temporary or permanent impacts to agricultural lands associated with the project wells.
