Document Description
The San Diego Unified School District proposes to remodel two kindergarten classrooms for use as Middle School and High School classrooms and remodel three other classrooms as counselor, mental health, and psychologist's offices. The project will also improve accessibility to classrooms, labs, restrooms, and other school facilities. ADA improvements will include an improved student drop-off, handrails at ramp entry gates, ADA compliant restrooms, and door hardware.

The District finds that this project is Categorically Exempt under Guidelines Section 15301(a), Existing Facilities adn 15302 (c), Replacement or reconstruction of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). The finding is based on: 1. The project is lcoated on an existing school campus and involves remodeling existing classrooms for Middle School and High School uses. 2. The project would replace the exsiting access facilities (i.e. ramp, path of travel) and would have the same purpose and capacity using improved, ADA-compliant facilities. 3. The area within and surrounding the project site has historically been disturbed and is not environmentally sensitive. 4. The project does not have the potential to trigger any of the exceptions identified in Guidelines Section 15300.2.
