NOTE: Review Per Lead The project is the update of the Housing Element of the City of Pinole General Plan as mandated by the State of California. The City of Pinole has prepared an update to the Housing Element to address the projected housing needs of current and future City residents. The current Housing Element was adopted by the City Council on May 6, 2003. The 2009 Housing Element Update is the City's policy document guiding the provison of housing to meet future needs for all economic segments of Pinole for the period from 2009 to 2014. The 2009 Housing Element Update identifies and analyzes existing and projected housing needs for population groups within the incorporated limits of the City of Pinole, and provides a statement of goals, policies, and actions, and documents programs for the preservation m improvement, and development of housing in the City. The Housing Element is mandated under California Government Code Section 65580. The State Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) reviews and certifies Housing Elements; however, HCD approval is not required for project adoption by the City.
