The purpose of the proposed project is to provide for the implementation of transit improvements that improve transit service in the Mid-Coast Corridor between Downtown San Diego, Old Town, and University City by increasing the speed and reliability of transit, reducing the need for transfers, and expanding transit capacity in the corridor. The proposed project evaluated in the Draft SEIS/SEIR, also referred to as the "Build Alternative," would extend the San Diego Trolley Blue Line from the Santa Fe Depot in Downtown San Diego north to the Old Town Transit Center (OTTC) via the existing Trolley tracks.
