Document Description
The City of Sausalito proposes to rehabilitate sanitary sewer facilities at two locations. Site 1a includes: -Three geotechnical borings, -Repair of approximately 2,300 linear feet of existing 8-inch sewer pipes by lining with new 4-inch pipe using launch pits and pilling through the existing line, and -Replacement of approximately 800 linear feet of sewer laterals with new 6-inch lines and pump stations using open trenches. Site 1b includes -Two geotechnical borings -Rehabilitation of the Anchor Pump Station, -Replacement of 1,120 linear feet of existing pipe, by a combination of open trenching and pulling new line through existing, and -Installation of a new grease interceptor. Work will occur largely within existing trenches. Any water removed during excavation will be discharged to the sanitary sewer. Best Management Practices will be employed during construction to minimize dust and disturbance. The street will remain open with traffic controls during construction.

Reasons for Exemption
The project works within the existing sewer system to repair existing facilities. Minor upgrades from pressurizing the Gate5 line and adding a grease interceptor will improve sewer performance but not increase capacity or expand existing uses.
