Document Description
The University is proposing to demolish, raze and remove Building 407, excavate, sample, remove, and dispose of petroleum contaminated soils in the vicinity of the former UST No. 1 and Building 407, within the proposed construction boundry. The site would be restored with clean compacted soil. The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) are funding and coordinating the project. The USACE will pursue obtaining final closure of this UST No. 1 site from the Central Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board. The building occupants will be finishing their academic work at the end of June 2010 and future physics graduate students will be provided space in existing vacant office on campus.
