Document Description
The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California proposes to grant a year-to-year entry permit to Mission Resource Conservation District to treat and remove the invasive, non-native plant, Arundo donax (Arundo), from specified drainages on Metropolitan property within the Santa Margarita River Watershed. Small teams of three to four individuals will treat Arundo with approved herbicides in backpack sprayers. Dead Arundo stems may either be left standing, be cut and chipped, or mulched. All work shall be performed outside the bird nesting season, cut Arundo will be removed from the active river channel, and no vehicles will be allowed in the river channel.
