Document Description
Researchers from the UC Davis Wildlife Health Center and the Department of Wildlife, Fish and Conservation Biology are proposing to monitor existing avian diseases in water fowl on the Arboretum Waterway, The project would consist of collecting samples from waterfowl and testing samples to track virus transmission. The objective is to understand the ecological and virological factors that drive the transmission of and emergence of avian influenza viruses within and across waterfowl at urban ponds.
