Document Description
CVGS proposes to rework 6 wells and abandon 1 well in Princeton Gas Field. The project activities being permitted by the California Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM) are within the scope of the Central Valley Gas Storage Project Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND). The reworks involve collecting corrosion logs, installing tubing, and performing pressure tests. Two of the reworks include converting the well from Observation to Gas Storage. The MND includes up to 10 injection/withdrawal wells and conversion of up to three existing wells. The rework of the wells will ensure compliance with revised regulations, Cal. Code Regs., tit. 14, § 1726 et seq., to enhance the safety of underground gas storage (UGS) projects. The wells and associated access roads are located within agricultural fields. The well pad site is surrounded by an approximate 5-acre secured buffer area. CalGEM, as the CEQA Responsible Agency, approved permit(s)for CVGS to rework 6 wells and abandon 1 well, listed below, in the Princeton Gas Field of Colusa County.
