Document Description
The City of Artesia is updating its 1993 General Plan. The Draft EIR evaluates potential environmental impacts from various General Plan revisions: update of General Plan development projections to the year 2030 planning horizon; update of the Land Use Element; addition of a Community Culture and Economy Element, and a Sustainability Element; creation of geographically-defined land use categories; and amendments to the remaining General Plan Elements to reflect the above changes. The General Plan Update would increase the City's existing housing inventory by 338 dwelling units and non-residential floor area by approximately 416,017 square feet. At buildout in 2030, the City's housing stock is forecast to total 4,948 dwelling units, with a resultant population of approximately 18,347 persons. Additionally, approximately 2,926,709 feet of non-residential users are anticipated at buildout, with a resultant employment of approximately 6,079 jobs.
