Reasons for Exemption
The L-Ditch is an existing artificial drainage feature that has provided drainage for the former B.F. Goodrich South Campus. The Project involves a minor alteration of land for the filling of an excavated area to a level close to existing grade and a small habitat restoration effort (approximately 3.4 acres) to restore wetlands for the benefit of water fowl and other species that rely on such habitat. The Project will result in substantial environmental benefits by removing contaminated materials and vegetation as well as a potential pathway to hazardous substances and will provide approximately 3.4 acres of habitat restoration adjacent to a National Wildlife Refuge.
