Document Description
The applicant is proposing to grade the existing roadway within the Vasco Winds property in order to level the access road and to widen it from 16-foot to 24-foot. A total of 26,797 cy of cut and a total of 961 cy of fill is proposed for this roadway. One scraper, one dozer, one water truck, and three to four pick-up trucks per day are anticipated for this project. The purpose of the roadway improvement is to allow for the safe circulation/access of the Summit Wind equipment to reach its project site located in Alameda County. There are no trees within this roadway and a rare plant species report has been conducted for the project area. The applicant is aware of its responsibility to comply with all of the approved Mitigation Measures (at all times) as approved by the Vasco Winds EIR, prepared and certified by Contra Costa County. Grading of the roadway is expected to take place in late Spring and roadway to be completed by late Summer 2020. The applicant is required to provide a reclamation bond to assure that the roadway is returned to its original conditions and is required to conduct all of the surveys pertaining to avian nesting and surveys for special species prior to grading the project area. The applicant is also required to obtain an encroachment permit and transportation permit from the County Public Works Department.
