Document Description
The proposed Project is located on 4,267 acres and will repower the existing wind farm by decommissioning and reclaiming 438 existing wind turbine generators (WTG) and 286 wind WTG foundations and constructing 34 new WTGs and associated infrastructure. Operation and maintenance, including road maintenance activities, will also be necessary. The Project will result in impacts to 200.49 acres of CA tiger salamander (Ambystoma californiense) and San Joaquin kit fox (Vulpes macrotis mutica) habitat, including temporary impacts to 147.26 acres and permanent removal of 53.23 acres of CA tiger salamander and San Joaquin kit fox habitat. The Project is expected to result in incidental take of CA tiger salamander and San Joaquin kit fox, which are both designated as threatened species under the CA Endangered Species Act. The incidental take permit (ITP) issued by DFG authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation. DFG issued the ITP as a responsible agency under the CEQA relying on the environmental impact report prepared for the Project and certified by the lead agency, County of Contra Costa.
