- Document Description
- Groundwater Extraction Project: The WWTP receives wastewater from residences and businesses within the City's service area. Wastewater is treated to an undisinfected secondary level. The WWTP consists of a biological secondary treatment process comprised of headworks, primary clarification, extended aeration, secondary clarification, sludge digestion and sludge drying. Disposal of treated wastewater effluent is currently provided by 14 storage ponds, each ~20 acres in area. In the past, these ponds were periodically taken out of service, dried, and farmed. Currently, the ponds are used exclusively for percolation and evaporation of the effluent.
