Document Description
The proposed project is a grade separation of the existing grade crossing at Placentia Avenue and the BNSF railroad tracks in the City of Placentia. The project objective is to improve public safety, both for vehicular and pedestrian movement through the project area. The project will also reduce traffic congestion and queuing cause by the existing at-grade conflict between the roadway and railroad tracks. The existing railroad line is heavily utilized freight corridor, and the proposed grade separation is also anticipated to improve the safety of railroad operations. Project features include right-of-way acquisition, storm drain improvements, utility relocation, hardscape and landscape treatments intended to enhance the appearance of the project area, and dedicated pedestrian facilities.
