Document Description
The proposed project would consist of developing three new groundwater wells (15,16,&17). Well 15 would be located in eastern Rio Linda and would replace drinking water supply from 2 decommissioned wells. The well would have a capacity of 1,500 gpm, a pump house and a hydro pneumatic tank; sodium hypochlorite treatment system, emergency generators, SCADA and associated electrical equipment and controls. Well 15 would also require approximately 47,000 feet of 12-inch diameter pipeline connecting to two existing water mains along Q street and 30th street. The construction of wells 16 and 17 is to remediate capacity shortfall, help relieve low pressure problems, and meet redundancy and emergency requirements per the California Department of Public Health Compliance Order. Wells 16 & 17 would have an estimated pumping capacity between 1,500 gpm and 2,500 gpm, a pipeline and access road would be installed at each well site, and sections of the existing distribution system piping would be improved. Additionally, treatment facilities would be developed for wells 16 and 17, in addition to the previously approved well 15 if necessary to meet applicable federal and state drinking water standards.
